The sixth annual house decorating contest had a new twist this year when it was turned into a community project with voting for your favorite decorated house by all residents. The committee totally underestimated how many of you would take part in the process and promptly ran out of ballots the first day. But, alas, the copy machine was put into immediate service, more ballots were printed and cut and the final day of voting ensued. There was a total of 208 ballots cast for beautifully decorated properties throughout the community. The residents outdid themselves this year with more individual homes with lights than the committee has ever seen in the past six years. After the votes were tallied, the winners became very clear.
On the evening of the Christmas parade, Saturday, December 7, the winning property owners were recognized as follows (please see the front cover):
Third place: Bruce & Linda Mack — 17840 Dragonia Drive
Second place: Roger & Sheryl Williams — 3428 Sabal Springs Blvd.
First place: Leo Pierson and Arlene Roy — 17843 Dracena Circle
The winners received a 2024 Christmas ornament depicting a front door and the place that their home was ranked in the competition.
Thanks to all of the residents who worked so diligently on their lighting displays and thanks to all of the residents who took the time to enjoy a ride through Sabal Springs to enjoy the decorations and place their votes.
And so, another Christmas season in Sabal Springs came to a close. Don’t we just have a wonderful community full of great special events all year, but none as fun as Christmas?
