Star Gazing – The November Skies

  • November 2025
  • BY TAREN GROM

In November, Florida stargazers can look for “Halloween fireballs” from the Taurid meteor shower peaking around November 4 to 9, and see constellations like Andromeda and the rising Capella and Sirius. The Big Dipper will appear low in the sky, and the planets Venus, Mars, and Jupiter will be visible, while Saturn and Uranus transition from morning to evening stars. Ideal locations for viewing include Everglades National Park, Kissimmee Prairie Preserve, and other dark-sky areas.

HOW TO SEE SATURN IN NOVEMBER

1. Locate the southern sky: Find the southern part of your sky after nightfall.

2. Identify bright objects: Look for a bright, yellowish-white “star.”

3. Find Aquarius: Saturn will be situated among the dim stars of the Aquarius constellation.

4. Use the moon as a guide: On some nights, the moon may be nearby, providing a convenient way to find Saturn.
