Congratulations to The Sabal Entertainment Group for another successful BIG Chili Cook-Off. Cheryl Frailly and her team outdid themselves for this popular annual event. Sabal Springs residents were treated to 14 unique chili offerings, cornbread varieties, multiple toppings, and many yummy desserts. Thank you to all the chefs for turning out and turning up the heat — a little bit. Thanks as well go to the Lee County Sheriff’s Ice Cream Truck.
Congratulations to Deanna Tyree McAtee whose Cattlemen’s Chili took first place. She credits her winning recipe to several secret ingredients that she was willing to share — barbecued beef brisket and sirloin steak with poblano and jalapeno peppers — the rest she says is under wraps.
