Sabal Springs will once again be decked out in all its festive finery this holiday season. Kicking things off is the Christmas Golf Cart Progressive Food Tasting. Susan Costa has put out a call for hosts for this year’s 4th annual event on Saturday, Dec. 5, running from 1 to 4 p.m. Susan says every host receives up to $75 toward food costs, depending upon the number of tickets sold. All you need to do is provide a tasty nibble or beverage. Susan says a couple of game and free raffle stops can be accommodated for those who would like to host, but don’t care to supply food or drink. If you are a holiday decorator, this is also an opportunity to shine, you can offer to have your home on the cart route. She says last year there were 20 stops hosted by more than 50 residents, five house tours, and more than 250 tickets sold. If you are interested, contact Susan at (508) 889-7592 — phone or text — or via Facebook.

On Sunday, Dec. 6, the Entertainment Committee is hosting a Christmas Dance in the event room. No doubt Cheryl Frailey and her merry band of elves will have the Clubhouse brimming with holiday cheer. Watch for news related to ticket sales, it’s sure to be a sell-out.

Saturday, Dec. 12, it’s time to light it up — that is your house. The Christmas Parade Committee is encouraging residents to spread the holiday cheer, celebrate, and connect with your neighbors and make everything merry and bright. They are also encouraging Sabal Springs to enter the Annual Christmas Parade. Golf carts, bicycles, and more are welcome to participate. And of course, don’t forget the fabulous North Fort Myers High School Band and the marching ROTC. This parade doesn’t happen without countless hours of volunteer time — thank you to all of you who make this day so special as well as the residents who go above and beyond with creative entries.

New this year is an award for the Watch Party that raises the most funds for our adopted high school…a trophy for display during the year and bragging rights are at stake. The caveat is that next year the trophy could travel to a new bangin’ house! So, get your snowflake machines on and make some magic happen for these talented students.

Whew…time to breathe and enjoy the rest of the holiday season with family and friends because before you know it Dec. 31 is around the corner. Sabal Springs asked and Sabal Springs is delivering with a New Year’s Eve party. More details to come as the team finalizes their plans.

The Breeze thanks all of the talented individuals who make the happy happen.
