TRAVELERS ENJOYED AN UNFORGETTABLE NIGHT AT THE THEATER WATCHING THE TONY AWARD- WINNING MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET.

In March, a group of Sabal Springs neighbors and friends took off again on a road trip bus tour, this time to Savannah, Jekyll Island, and Beaufort, S.C. Everyone had the opportunity to enjoy Savannah, the “Belle of Georgia,” on a guided trolley tour of the town with its beautiful oak-lined streets, lovely town squares, plus hop-on/hop-off privileges on the trolley to explore on their own. Then we were off on guided tours of St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island where some of the nation’s wealthiest citizens, such as J. P. Morgan and William Rockefeller lived and played. The bus tour also included a visit to the Parris Island Marine base where 22,000 men and women complete their training each year. The tour included the Iwo Jima Monument, Parade Field, and the Parris Island Museum.

The highlight of our trip was a performance of the Million Dollar Quartet, which was a Tony-Award winning musical inspired by the true story of the famed recording session in which Sam Phillips, the “Father of Rock ’n Roll” brought together icons Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Elvis Presley for one amazing night. It was certainly an unforgettable show for all of us.

In the coming months, we have a Thanksgiving cruise aboard the beautiful Celebrity Xceland another fantastic bus tour, this time to St. Augustine & Amelia Island in December.
